Corpus Christi Liquefaction February 2018 Monthly Progress Report
Train 1 is projected to achieve substantial completion in the 1st half of 2019 and Train 2 in the 2nd half of 2019. Activities planned for the month of March 2018 are on track.
On March 22nd, 2018 Cheniere Energy submitted a monthly progress report to the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the Corpus Christi Liquefaction project (CCL). The report covered activities for the CCL Stage 1 (Trains 1 and 2, Tanks A and C, OSBL, West Jetty and East Jetty Civil Works) and CCL Stage 2 (Train 3, Tank B and East Jetty Topsides) projects that occurred during the month of February 2018.
The report noted Stage 1 Engineering and Procurement are now
100.0% complete. Subcontract and direct hire construction work are 66.3% and
64.3% complete, respectively. Overall project completion for Stage 1 is 84.0%.
Train 1 is projected to achieve substantial completion in the 1st half of 2019 and
Train 2 in the 2nd half of 2019.
Stage 2 engineering continued. Procurement placed additional long lead time
purchase orders. Site civil works continued.
Stage 1 continued progressing work in pipe completion,
testing, and critical path systems. In February, the OSBL work focused on the
water treatment plant and compressed air generation unit to be ready to turn
over to the commissioning and startup team in the next two months. Major
highlights for February included: flushing synthetic oil systems in Train 1
refrigeration compressors, preparation for installation of dry gas seals,
completion of testing feed gas lines, and energization of the control building substation
in the OSBL. Construction has turned 76 systems over to the commissioning and
startup team through the end of February.
Stage 2 continued site preparation, drainage activities, mudmat placement, and
sheet pile driving. The team commenced welding and installation of underground
high-density polyethylene (“HDPE) pipe, installation of rebar, and installation
of formwork.
